HALLOWEEN DOESN’T HAVE TO BE SCARY…

HALLOWEEN DOESN’T HAVE TO BE SCARY…

Keep trick-or-treaters safe this Halloween! Here are some suggestions to keep your excited goblins and princesses having fun and staying safe in the process:

  • Always have a buddy…never go trick-or-treating alone.
  • Always have an adult chaperone along for the fun. An older reliable teen in high school will have fun too and appreciate the responsibility.
  • NEVER go in a stranger’s home even if they seem nice.
  • Make sure a child has full site view if wearing a mask to prevent falls or injuries.
  • For older children, young teens who go out as a group, make sure you know their trick-or-treat route, who is in the group and when will they be returning home. For added fun, meet up with your child and their group for pizza or invite them all back to your house for a party afterwards with ghoulish treats.
  • Take a flashlight…for that matter take two and give one to a friend.
  • NEVER eat the candy before inspecting it.
  • Make sure to have some kind of reflective strips or tape on costume so drivers can see children in the dark.
  • Never run into the street to cross without proper safeguards that would normally be followed on non-Halloween night. Cross at the crosswalk and not in between!
  • Come up with some of your own safety tips and engage your children to think of some of their own also.

Have a blast, be respectful, please say thank you and STAY SAFE!
