“Life’s most persistent and nagging question is: What are you doing for others?” This question asked by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a powerful one.
So today and everyday, consider asking yourself how do you give back on a daily basis and how can you do more.
Today we honor Dr. King with day of service. People from all walks of life across the United States join together to volunteer in various ways to serve their communities.
The purpose of this special day of service is to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, address social problems, and move our nation closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “Beloved Community.”
As a baby boomer growing up in societies tumultuous times, I had the opportunity to be alive when Dr. King was preaching living together as brothers and sisters no matter our skin color, race, wealth or religion.
Martin Luther King…a hero in my eyes!
